Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween! It is honestly my favourite time of the year because it combines my love of all things horror, dressing up and having costume parties, and having sweet and delicious things! Unfortunately here in Australia we don't celebrate Halloween as widely as the Northern Hemisphere does, and I always think that is a shame, but if you're friends with me or have been following me for awhile you will know that I am always celebrating the spookiest time of the year! This year I have decorated my house and my office in heaps of spooky decorations and treats, and have all of my candy and food ready for trick or treaters. As is my usual Halloween tradition, I will be hosting a pumpking carvi

A Short History Of Zombies

Zombies are just an imaginary supernatural creature right? They're the stuff of horror movies, either rising from their graves or being bitten by other zombies and causing flesh eating cannabalsitic tendencies. I mark my career on zombies after writing Cosmic Decay: Contamination, so I've gone out of my way to read, hear and watch as many zombie pop culture projects as possible. There is, however, a huge difference when it comes to workplace Halloween costumes and the type you would usually wear to a big drunken Hall

I love the idea of having alternative painted pumpkins as decorations, and while it's still just as DIY it's less messy and more pretty. Here are two of my favourite alternative pumpkin designs for your next Halloween bash: The Pretty Pumpkin If you are looking for something more sweet rather than scary you can do one of my favourite ideas which is making a water colour pumpkin! To make you’re own water colour pumpkin, simply follow the straight forward instructions found at Lines Across The Punky Pumpkin If you're looking for something punky and cool try

Avoid A Tacky Halloween

There are many classic items that come out to play on Halloween when it comes to decorating – things like pumpkins, spiderwebs, fake blood, unrealistic dead hands shooting up from the ground, tombstones, and skulls to name a few. While some people can go simply grotesque with Halloween decorations, there are those that can consider this approach to decorating as tacky. If you are looking to host a more glamorous Halloween do here are a few tips that are going to help: Opt For Opulance It’s not Halloween without pumpkins right? Pumpkin carving is a fun activity in it’s own right in the lead up to Halloween but nothing says tacky like a classic Jack O’Lantern. Make your Halloween event a littl
